Oil on Stretched Canvas
36 inches by 24 inches
This landscape scene is on our farm looking north. It’s closer to our barn than the scene depicted in Barn in Ice Fog. Naturally, the barn is much more prominent and detailed without the ice fog.
As you can see, our barn is not in good shape and unfortunately it’s not economical to make the necessary repairs. We’re hoping that we can dismantle it and salvage as much wood as possible before it collapses. However, my fascination with our barn is not meant to depict a derelict structure. Rather, it’s a tribute to a monument that has faithfully served its purpose for well over a century.
As with all my works in progress, you’ll be able to follow their progression to completion. The image above shows the latest state of the work, while the images below follow the work from beginning to end.
