Oil on Stretched Canvas
Canvas 5 inches by 7 inches
During the winter, I enjoy watching snowfalls from a loveseat located next to a window overlooking two massive white spruce just feet away from our house. More often than not, chickadees hop along the tree’s branches and peer into the window at me. For years, I felt sorry for them thinking that they wanted so much to join me in the warmth of our home. One day this past winter, I awakened to the realization that they were more than likely thinking why are you in there when it’s so wonderful out here. It’s all in one’s perception.
This work features a black-capped chickadee on a branch of an apple tree in blossom.
