Sideroad 7A

Oil on Stretched Canvas

18 inches by 24 inches

This landscape scene is on our sideroad looking east towards Beaver Valley. I set up my easel in the middle of the road, with all of my painting supplies on the road’s shoulder. Unfortunately, there was much more traffic on our sideroad than usual that day and I had to keep moving off the road to avoid becoming road kill. All this time, knowing well that they’re not allowed on the road, our two dogs, Charlie and his daughter Violet, sat at the end of our laneway with perplexed looks as if saying, “what are you thinking”.

As with all my works in progress, you’ll be able to follow their progression to completion. The image above shows the latest state of the work, while the images below follow the work from beginning to end.
