Oil on Stretched Canvas

This landscape scene is of our farm looking southeast from our house. The second row of trees is the eastern boundary of our farm. Once again, one late afternoon, the setting sun brilliantly lit up the fields, trees and in particular a stand of large sugar maples in full colour, all against a dark backdrop of foreboding sky. Yet again, I quickly got my camera and rushed out to take pictures and commit the view to memory. As usual, the scene vanished within minutes.
As with all my works in progress, you’ll be able to follow their progression to completion. The image above shows the latest state of the work, while the images below follow the work from beginning to end.
