Oil on Stretched Canvas
Canvas 18 inches by 24 inches
This landscape scene is of a field looking west from our house. The row of maples is the western boundary of our farm. One late morning, the sun brilliantly lit up the field and the sugar maples at the far end against a dark backdrop of foreboding sky. I quickly got my camera and rushed out to take pictures and commit the view to memory. As is usually the case, giving ground to the coming rain, the scene vanished within minutes.
As with all my works in progress, you’ll be able to follow their progression to completion. The image above shows the completed work, while the images below follow the work from beginning to end.
